Police expect 260,000 people to flock to Jakarta on NYE

Jakarta Police operational division chief Sr. Comr. Agung
Budi Maryoto predicts that up to 260,000 people will be spending New Year’s Eve
in Jakarta and will flock to popular recreational venues such as Ancol, the
National Monument (Monas) and Taman Mini
Indonesia Indah (TMII).
He
explained that Ancol was likely to attract around 200,000 visitors on New
Year’s Eve, while Monas and TMII were predicted to attract 10,000 and 50,000
people respectively, kompas.com reported.
Jakarta
Police would dispatch 5,889 personnel to secure the city on New Year’s Eve, he
added.
