Service on TransJakarta busway Corridor 11 in East Jakarta started at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, according to TransJakarta general services chief Muhammad Akbar.
Jakarta Transportation Agency head Udar Pristono said that Corridor 11 would begin in Kampung Melayu and will end temporarily at the East Jakarta Mayor’s office until construction of the Pulogebang shelter is complete in mid-2012.
Twenty-one articulated buses operated by state-run bus company Damri will serve the 20.5-kilometer long route.
“We are expecting 30,000 passengers will take this route every day,” Akbar said as quoted by tempo.co. (swd)
