West Jakarta man robbed in taxi, dumped on road

The West Jakarta Police
are looking for the men who robbed, beat and tossed a resident of Grogol, West
Jakarta, out of his taxi.
“The incident happened at about 7 p.m. on
Wednesday,” Adj. Com. Teddy Rachesna, detective squad chief at the Tanjung
Duren precinct, told tempo.co on Friday.
The victim, Johan
Wijaya, 32, took a white taxi from a shopping center in Tambora, West Jakarta,
according to the police.
After the taxi moved
several meters, three men suddenly entered the vehicle, beating Johan as he resisted
their attempt to rob him.
Johan was dumped at the
road near Trisakti University in Grogol after the men took his cell phone and
shopping bag, worth about Rp 2 million.
The victim was still under
treatment at Sumber Waras Hospital on Friday for injuries and a suspected
concussion.
