The West Jakarta Police are looking for the men who robbed, beat and tossed a resident of Grogol, West Jakarta, out of his taxi.

“The incident happened at about 7 p.m. on Wednesday,” Adj. Com. Teddy Rachesna, detective squad chief at the Tanjung Duren precinct, told tempo.co on Friday.

The victim, Johan Wijaya, 32, took a white taxi from a shopping center in Tambora, West Jakarta, according to the police.

After the taxi moved several meters, three men suddenly entered the vehicle, beating Johan as he resisted their attempt to rob him.

Johan was dumped at the road near Trisakti University in Grogol after the men took his cell phone and shopping bag, worth about Rp 2 million.

The victim was still under treatment at Sumber Waras Hospital on Friday for injuries and a suspected concussion.
