All is calm in Palu

Security situation in Palu ahead
the turn of year is still good with police officers guarding a number of houses
of worships on Saturday evening.
Security personnel have guarded the
GKST Immanuel church on Jl. Masjid Raya in South Palu
since the afternoon. Access to the church is being closed during Mass service.
Nearing to New Year’s Eve, the
police will divert the traffic to reduce congestion.
Palu Traffic Police chief Adj.
Comr. Doni Prakoso said the police engineered traffic along streets leading to Talise
and Palu Fairground beaches which were always packed during New Year’s Eve.
Meanwhile rattling firecrackers
and colorful fireworks to welcome 2012 have started to be heard and seen since
the afternoon across the Central Sulawesi
provincial capital.
A party to welcome 2012 is held
at Governor Longky Djanggola’s official residence on Jl. Mohammad Yamin. (nvn)
