Jakarta deploys 4,900 police personnel on New Year’s Eve

The Jakarta Police deploy 4,900 personnel to secure New Year’s Eve celebration in the city.

“We are deploying 4,900 police personnel to secure New Year’s Eve celebration,” Jakarta Police chief Insp. Gen. Untung S. Rajab said Saturday as quoted by Antara news agency, adding that the police are also deploying 110 motorcycles to help secure the celebration.

He said that the motorcycles were used to be more effective to reach the crime scene if something happen during the celebration.

Untung said that the police would exert all its ability to secure the New Year’s Eve celebration. (drs)
