Three suspects named in Kutai bridge tragedy

The East Kalimantan Police have identified three suspects allegedly responsible for the collapse of the Tenggarong Bridge last month.
“There are three suspects -- YS from the relevant agency, ST and MSR from private companies,” East Kalimantan Police chief Bambang Widaryatmo said Saturday as quoted by tribunnews.com.
Police, however, have yet to detain the suspects.
“We will question the suspects first; whether they need to be detained or not depends on the investigators,” said Bambang.
He added that the three suspects were considered negligent in doing their jobs.
The Tenggarong Bridge, which connected Tenggarong and Tenggarong Seberang in Kutai Kartanegara regency, collapsed on Nov. 26, while maintenance work was being carried out, leaving 22 people dead and dozens of others missing. (iwa)
