The Soekamto
Police Hospital
will return graft suspect Nunun Nurbaeti to the Pondok Bambu Penitentiary on
Monday night, her lawyer says.
“We are waiting for a team from the Corruption Eradication
Commission (KPK) to take her to the Pondok Bambu Penitentiary,” Ina Rachman
said Monday, as quoted by tempo.co.
Ina said that doctors in the hospital had felt that Nunun’s
blood pressure had returned to normal and was confident that she would recover
from her weak physical condition.
“During treatment, her blood pressure had been up and down.
But now it has improved,” she said.
Nunun was admitted to hospital on Friday after her blood
pressure was said to have suddenly risen while in detainment at the Pondok
Bambu Penitentiary.
It was the third time she had been rushed to hospital since
being arrested in Bangkok, Thailand, and put under the custody
of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) in early December.
Nunun Nurbaeti is a suspect in a bribery case surrounding the
election of a Bank Indonesia senior deputy governor.
She was arrested in Bangkok
after being named an Interpol fugitive who had fled Indonesia in February following
corruption allegations. (awd)
