Jakarta enjoys light traffic on Monday

A- A A+

Jakarta residents enjoyed light traffic on Monday as some city streets were clear with many people apparently still on holiday.

The Traffic Management Center (TMC) run by the city police said that traffic from the Pluit toll road heading toward Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, was quite smooth with vehicles traveling at speeds of between 40 and 60 km per hour.

The toll road from Cawang, East Jakarta, to Grogol, West Jakarta, was not as busy as usual. Mampang street heading to Kuningan, South Jakarta, and Daan Mogot street heading to Grogol, West Jakarta, looked clear as well, antaranews.com reported.

However, heavy traffic was reported at the Kuningan intersection heading to Rasuna Said, South Jakarta, and from Kebon Jeruk toll road heading toward Tomang. There were also traffic jams on the Cibubur toll road heading toward Cawang, under the Kebayoran Lama flyover heading toward Permata Hijau, South Jakarta, and from in front of Tanjung Barat station to Pasar Minggu in South Jakarta.
