Comment: Maid brutally raped in Saudi Arabia

The homicide investigation unit of the Mecca police found an Indonesian housemaid beaten and raped at Al-Jabal checkpoint on the Mecca -Laith coastal road.

The Indonesian maid, in her 20s, was allegedly beaten and raped by seven drunken men, the police said on Tuesday, arabnews.com reported.

The police said the maid was under a sponsor in Mecca and had left the sponsor’s place with a young man to have illicit sex at his friend’s apartment in Jeddah.

Before we all prematurely get hot under the collar about who committed this disgusting outrage against the young woman, let’s wait until the Saudi police get hold of some suspects.

Emotional debates about the existence or non-existence of God have absolutely nothing to do with what is essentially quite a vile secular crime.

Absent in all of the comments so far is the question of what consular aid and support the Indonesian government is giving the young lady.
