House sets Rp 2 billion for toilet renovation project

The House of Representatives has allotted Rp 2
billion (US$219.148) to renovate toilets in the legislative compound.
“If the renovation project spent only Rp 1.5
billion for example, the remaining budget will be returned to the state
treasury but if it more than that, there will be revised budget for the
project,” spokesman of the House' secretariat general Jaka Winarko said
Tuesday as quoted by kompas.com.
He said many toilets in the Nusantara I building
that were out of order and gave off bad odor.
Separately House Speaker Marzuki Alie said
he knew nothing about the renovation plan.
“It is handled by the secretariat
general, nothing to do with [House] members,” he said. (iwa)
