JAKARTA: The Education and Culture Ministry says it will include anticorruption education in school curricula starting this year.
“It is part of nine values we will include to promote character building in our national education,” Education and Culture Minister Mohammad Nuh said.
He added that the ministry would focus on developing anticorruption educational material for schools throughout Indonesia to fight corruption.
“We want to teach students that corruption is bad and that it is our common enemy,” said the minister.
Former Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) chief Haryono Umar will join the ministry in January to support the program.
“I cannot elaborate on the details yet because we are still developing the program,” Haryono said.
