Former Pematangsiantar Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Fatori is facing an eight-month prison term for allegedly beating a journalist from a private television company, Andi Siahaan, in Pematangsiantar, North Sumatra.

Public prosecutor Robert Nainggolan read the sentence demand at the Pematangsiantar District Court on Wednesday.

Robert said Fatori, who at the time served as the Pematangsiantar Police chief, should have been a good example to the public, and should not have assaulted the journalist.

Fatori allegedly assaulted Andi on Nov. 30, 2010, tribunnews.com reported. (drs)
