PLN resumes services in Aceh

A- A A+

State electricity company PT PLN has resumed its services in Aceh province following the blackout caused by the collapse of two PLN towers that were allegedly sawed down by unidentified people, a local official says.

“There will be no blackouts in the future in the nine districts/municipalities throughout Aceh,” Aceh PLN general manager Sulaeman Daud said Monday.

Sulaeman said the local PLN management had to borrow two temporary electricity towers from Padang during the blackout period in order to be able to stand by.

Aceh residents had been left in the dark since Sunday after allegations that certain persons sabotaged an electricity tower located in North Aceh region.  (dic)
