The Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Police, in cooperation with counterparts from the National Narcotics Agency (BNN), confiscated 50 kilograms of crystal methamphetamine, locally known as sabu, worth Rp 308 billion (US$34,000), along with 357,000 ecstasy pills and arrested a Malaysian citizen identified as KTC, 35, who had earlier been arrested at Taman Anggrek Apartment.

Airport police chief Sr. Comr. Reynhard Silitonga said that the arrest was made possible following a tip from AN, 35, an Indonesian who had been arrested at the airport.

“Based on the information we received from AN, we developed the case until we found the Malaysian suspect along with the drugs at the apartment,” Reyinhard told reporters during a press conference at the airport Monday, adding that it was the biggest drug bust this year so far.
