Interest high in Sm*sh Surkakarta concert

Many teenage girls in Surakarta, Central Java, will have to accept the bitter reality after failing to obtain tickets to see their idols Sm*sh at a concert in the city.

The group, who will be joined by Cherry Belle, will perform in Diamond Solo Convention Center for Chinese New Year’s Eve on Jan. 22.

The two groups will collaborate to sing popular Mandarin songs.

The two groups promised to perform live and not lip-sync as they have done at previous performances.

“We are overwhelmed with the interest. All the tickets have been sold out, and many of those who couldn't get tickets cried and even begged to see the performance,” said the event's spokesperson Luky Irene Handoko on Saturday as quoted by tribunnews.com.

She said 3,000 tickets had been sold out on Saturday, a week before the performance. Ticket prices started from Rp 100,000 (US$11). (iwa/mtq)
