RI immigration detains 15 Chinese nationals

The Law and Human Rights Ministry’s directorate general for immigration confirms that it has arrested 15 Chinese nationals, all women, for infringing Indonesian immigration laws.

“They are currently being held at an immigration detention center,” immigration office spokesperson Maryoto told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.

Five of the 15 Chinese citizens who were arrested did not have proper immigration documents, he said.

However, he did not specify where the arrest was made. (sat/mtq)
