ALU: The Central Sulawesi Prosecutor’s Office has detained two officials working at the gubernatorial office — Yuliansyah and Kasman Lassa — for alleged graft.

They were arrested on Monday for allegedly misappropriating Gedung Wanita renovation funds worth Rp 1.4 billion (US$165,000).

The prosecutors also held four others — technical activity manager M. Asad, supervisory consultant Fahmi Thalib and two contractors, Salma Senang and Haeruddin. “We should have also arrested another contractor Raymond Hartono Taula, but he did not respond to the summons. We will detain him immediately,” Central Sulawesi Prosecutor’s Office head M. Isa Ansyari told The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.

Before working for the gubernatorial staff, Yuliansyah and Kasman were the provincial secretariat’s general logistics division heads. Yuliansyah is the brother-in-law of former governor Paliudju and Kasman was Paliudju’s right-hand man.
