State-Owned Enterprises Minister Dahlan Iskan has denied an allegation that he accepted a sum of money for giving the go-ahead to two power plant projects in Kalimantan and Riau in 2010.

At the time, Dahlan was president director of the state-owned electricity company PT PLN.

“Go ahead and investigate it. If there is [money found], then you can take it because up to this moment [the money] has not reached me yet. It must have drifted somewhere else. Perhaps it’s still stuck with [Nazaruddin’s] secretary,” he said Thursday on the sidelines of a 2012 national meeting at Jakarta International Expo in West Jakarta’s Kemayoran.

The allegation was made by graft defendant Muhammad Nazaruddin in court on Wednesday.

The former Democratic Party treasurer said that he had learned that an amount of money had flowed from a businessman named Wila to Dahlan, among others, to ensure the power plant projects went smoothly.

Dahlan said that he did not know anyone named Wila as Nazaruddin claimed, but confirmed that PLN ran the two projects, which were worth Rp 4 trillion (US$436.2 million) in total.

According to Nazaruddin, Democratic Party chairman Anas Urbaningrum also received Rp 80 billion in “fees” for the power plant projects. (awd/mtq)
