AKARTA: Graft suspect Wa Ode Nurhayati is to undergo further questioning by the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) on Friday, her lawyer says.
“Today [Friday] I will accompany Ibu WON for questioning by the KPK,” Mohammad Iskandar said on Friday, referring to Wa Ode by her initials, as quoted by tribunnews.com.
It will be her second questioning session after she complied with a KPK summons on Monday for her first session.
In her first questioning session, the House of Representatives’ budget committee member denied charges that she did not have the authority to allocate funds for projects, as had been alleged by KPK investigators.
The KPK named Wa Ode a suspect in December for allegedly accepting kickbacks from businessmen to facilitate the disbursement of regional transfer funds for the Infrastructure Development Acceleration Program (PPID).
The PPID scheme is suspected of being used by politicians to coax businessmen into paying bribes in return for contracts for projects funded by the program.
