The
Democratic Party is aiming to get 30 percent of the national vote in
the 2014 general elections, according to a top official.
"The national target is 30 percent. I am sure that we can get more
than 30 percent of the vote in South Sumatra,” party chairman Anas
Urbaningrum said in Palembang, South Sumatra, on Saturday evening at an
executive meeting of the party's South Sumatra branch.
Reaching the goal would be aided by the party's speedy consolidation
and recruitment of highly qualified and motivated members with strong
grass roots connections, Anas added.
"The people have felt the
benefit of the party’s pro-people programs, which show that the party is
not only known, but is also loved by the people," Anas said. (nvn)
