The National Police has announced the arrest of six suspected drug smugglers allegedly part of an international narcotics network.
“The syndicate brings the drugs from Malaysia to Batam and then to Jakarta using the ship KM Sirimau,” National Police spokesman Insp. Gen.Saud Usman Nasution said on Monday, as quoted by tempo.co.
He said that the police arrested the first four suspects at the Tanjung Priok Nusantara Dua Port before nabbing the other two suspects at separate locations.
In the arrests, officers managed to confiscate 20 kilograms of crystal meth, locally known as sabu, and 110,000 ecstasy pills as evidence, he said. (awd/dic)
