Seven RI students win medals at int’l science Olympiad

Seven Indonesian students won three gold, three silver and one bronze medals at the International Zhautykov Olympiad (IZHO).

The Olympiad in mathematics, physics and computer sciences was held from Jan. 15 to 21 in Almaty, Kazakhstan, and involved 343 participants in 54 teams from 18 different countries.

The Indonesia delegation, which was led by Anton Wardaja and Zainul Abidin, consisted of nine students.

The gold medalists are Erwin Handoko Tanin (senior high school SMA Sutomo 1 Medan), Albert Datui (senior high school SMAK Penabur Gading Serpong in Banten) and Limiardi Eka Sancerio (senior high school SMAK Penabur Gading Serpong in Banten).

Christa Lorenzia Soesanto (senior high school SMA St. Laurensia Banten), Fransisca Susan (senior high school SMAK 1 BPK Penabur Jakarta) and Peter Tirtowijoyo Young (senior high school SMAK St. Louis 1 Surabaya) won silver medals, while Indhika Fauzhan Warsito (senior high school SMAN Unggulan MH Thamrin Jakarta) grabbed a bronze medal.
