Three main tourism destinations in Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara; Gili Trawangan, Gili Meno and Gili Air have been inaccessible by sea since Wednesday morning due to bad weather.
“The waves are more than three meters high with a wind speed of over 30 knots, therefore we have prohibited any sailings to the three Gili islands,” head of transportation, communication and information agency Ridwan Syah said on Wednesday as quoted by Antara.
He said his agency would coordinate with the Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) to provide information about weather conditions on a three-hourly basis.
Ridwan said his agency would reopen the route to the three islands as soon as the weather allowed. (iwa)
