Flag carrier Garuda Indonesia signed an agreement with the country’s largest lender Bank Mandiri on joint promotion on Thursday.

A memorandum of understanding (MoU) was signed by Garuda marketing director M. Arif Wibowo and Mandiri executive vice president of coordinator consumer finance Mansyur S. Nasution at the Garuda Indonesia Gallery in Senayan City, South Jakarta.

The cooperation includes a Buy One Get One Free program for executive class seats at selected international routes and a special price program for domestic and international routes for all Bank Mandiri’s credit and debit card holders.

Arif said that the cooperation was aimed to enhance the synergy of both companies and to increase Garuda’s market share, both domestically and internationally.

“Bank Mandiri has a very large potential market because it is one of the largest banks in the country and it has customers all over the country and overseas,” Arif said on Thursday as quoted by kompas.com.

Meanwhile, Mansyur said that the cooperation was a strategic move to encourage the growth of credit and debit card transactions.

The Buy One Get One Free program is valid for international routes to Amsterdam, Beijing, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur, Melbourne, Nagoya, Singapore, Seoul, Sydney and Taipei. (drs)
