Pianist Oliver Kern to perform in Jakarta

German pianist Oliver Kern will be performing at the Gedung Kesenian Jakarta (GKJ) playhouse on Thursday evening.

The award winning pianist, who has been in the city since Monday, will perform with Indonesian violinist Iskandar Widjaja Hadar.

“This is my first time in Indonesia. I am very glad to finally be here,” Kern said on Tuesday evening in Jakarta as quoted by tempo.co.

He will also perform in Surakarta, Central Java, and Surabaya, East Java.

Kern, who is a professor of piano, is much appreciated for his performance of music by Beethoven and Brahms. (swd)
