State-owned radio station receives bomb threat

State-owned radio station Radio Republik Indonesia’s (RRI) headquarters in Central Jakarta received a bomb threat on Thursday.
The threat was received via telephone by a RRI employee.
“Yes, there was a bomb threat received by the radio station at 12:30 p.m.,” Jakarta Police operational unit chief Sr. Comr. Agung Budi Maryoto told reporters on Thursday.
He said that the caller said that a bomb would explode in the radio station on Jl. Medan Merdeka Utara No. 4-5, Central Jakarta.
“The caller asked all employees to leave the building,” Agung said.
Central Jakarta Police officers have been deployed to evacuate all employees, while the Jakarta Police bomb squad checked the building, kompas.com reported. (swd/mtq)
