The Makassar Police have let the 14-year-old suspected of reckless driving that caused five accidents return home for school.
“He’s only a teenager and he has to go to school on Monday,” Makassar Police traffic unit chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Muhammad Hidayat said on Monday as quoted by tempo.co.
According to Hidayat, H.R.R violated the Traffic Law when he took to the streets of the city in a Honda Jazz without a driver’s license and caused several accidents that resulted in minor injuries and material losses.
Hidayat said that H.R.R should be given moral support instead legal sanctions.
“This incident shouldn’t impact his future,” added Muhammad Hidayat.
