Business tycoon Tommy Winata says that the cost
for the feasibility study of the Sunda Strait bridge may range between Rp 3.6
trillion and Rp 4.8 trillion (US$531,267).
"We will be able to provide a more accurate
calculation on bridge feasibility study within the next two weeks. Based
on international standards, a feasibility study would cost between 3 to
4 percent of the total project cost," Tommy told The Jakarta Post on Wednesday.
Previously, Public Works Minister Djoko Kirmanto announced
that the Sunda Strait bridge project could cost up to
an estimated Rp 120 trillion.
A consortium comprising the Banten and Lampung
administrations, along with PT Bangungraha Sejahtera Mulia, a subsidiary
of Tommy’s holding Arta Graha Network, had signed a memorandum of
understanding (MoU) to jointly develop the bridge in October 2007. (dic)
