More than three-quarters of the 386 mining companies in Jambi lack “clear-and-clean” certifications from the government, according to an official.
“There are only 90 mining permit holders that have clear-and-clean status,” Jambi Energy and Mineral Resources Agency head Azwar Effendi said Wednesday.
The 276 delinquent companies would have to be certified by the end of the year, Azwar said, but did not specify any sanctions if they were not. (mtq)
