55-year-old granny overpowers robber in a duel

Misyati, 55, a resident of Kedawung Village in Blitar, East Java, appeared to be a hapless victim with seven grams of gold around her neck.
However, she surprised a robber named Yulianto, 27, who attempted to snatch the necklace.
“He [Yulianto] pretended to be a customer looking for a pair of shoes in my store. He suddenly grabbed my necklace. I tried to fight him,” Misyati said as quoted by Antara on Tuesday.
Seeing that Yulianto might overpower her in the duel, she screamed for help, scaring the robber who tried to escape on his motorcycle.
Yulianto was unfortunate, as Misyati managed to knock him down while he was riding off on his motorcycle.
Yulianto, a resident of Kendalrejo, Blitar, was surrounded by Misyat’s neighbors and brought to the nearby police station for questioning.
Misyati said she was not injured during the incident.
Nglegok Police chief Adj. Comr. Priyo Sulistiono said the police were still questioning the robber and eyewitnesses. (iwa)
