An official said the Yogyakarta’s
Public Order Agency plans to close down 14 sex shops for illegal permits
and selling sexual enhancement pills, which aren’t allowed by the Food and Drug
Monitoring Agency.
“We have filed for the closure of 26 alleged sex
shops with the state district court and have been granted the permission
to execute 14 of those closures,” Yogyakarta’s Public
Order Agency head Suryanto said on Tuesday.
He said besides the closures, the court had also
fined these shops between Rp 199,000 and Rp 224,000 per shop.
Suryanto advised people to avoid any product
that has been offered by these kinds of shops simply because they could
jeopardize health.
“They are usually offering some cosmetics first as
gimmick, before offering their real commodities, the sex booster pills,”
he said. (dic)
