Angelina won the beauty pageant in 2001, which then paved her way into the Indonesian political scene.
She joined the Democratic Party and in 2004 became a member of the House of Representatives (DPR).
“At the Putri Indonesia Foundation, there isn’t actually a rule regulating the dismissal [of a Miss Indonesia] for being named a suspect. However, if she is proven guilty, we will consider next steps,” said Mega Angkasa, the foundation’s head of public relations, on Tuesday.
Mega admitted that Angelina had not been very involved in the foundation’s activities lately. She said the last time she met Angelina was when her husband, House member Adjie Massaid, passed away last year.
“We will continue to monitor Angelina’s case,” Mega added as quoted by tempo.co. (tas)
