Denny inaugurated as professor

YOGYAKARTA: Deputy Law and Human Rights Minister Denny Indrayana was inaugurated as a professor in state administration law at Gadjah Mada University’s School of Law, Yogyakarta, on Monday.

Among the VIP guests witnessing his inauguration were Vice President Boediono, Yogyakarta Governor Hamengkubuwono X, a number of ministers and other top government officials.

In his acceptance speech titled “A Just and Democratic Presidential System”, Denny said an effective, just and democratic presidential system would bring about an effective administration with a higher potential to create wealth for all the people.

A just system, according to Denny, was characterized by the creation of balanced authority, which would only be created by integrating the three elements of constitutional power, political support and control.

He also spoke of the dangers of absolute authority. “It could give birth to political chaos and the sensation of no solution,” he said.
