School principal dies at brothel

Principal of state elementary school SD Kemasan, Sugiono, 52, was found dead in a room with a sex worker at Dadapan brothel in Ngasem, Kediri, East Java on Wednesday evening.

“We don't know the exact cause of his death. We are still investigating the case,” Kediri Police chief detective Adj. Comr. Wayan Winata said Thursday.

Wayan said that Sugiono had just made arrangements with a sex worker, named Titik Andayani, 27, and agreed to pay Rp 50,000 (US$5.6) for the service. They booked a room in a house belonging to Samiran, 48.

“The woman found the victim in convulsions upon her return to the room from the restroom,” Wayan said.

Residents at the brothel later called a doctor from Ngasem public health clinic but Sugiono's life could not be saved.

"We've checked the scene, but we did find any evidence [that might lead to the cause of his death], like supplements or male enhancement pills,” Wayan was quoted by Antara.

Police had contacted Sugiyono's family, who reside in Singonegaran, Pesantren, Kediri, he said. (dmr)
