Singapore-based insurance company Great Eastern on Friday launched a new strategy focusing on helping customers to lead healthier lives.
“While other insurance companies focus on offering financial protection, we are moving beyond the traditional role of an insurance company. We want to actively support our customers in their efforts to live better in their daily lives and we will reward them for living healthier,” Great Eastern Holdings Group CEO Chris Wei said.
Wei said that the company would lower health insurance premiums for customers who lead healthier lives.
Great Eastern’s website will provide information and advice on health and wellness. The company also launched the 21 Days mobile application, which will help customers change their lifestyles over a 21-day period.
“This is a game changer for Great Eastern and we are setting ourselves new standards in customer engagement and service,” he said.
The company will launch the new campaign in Indonesia, the company’s third biggest market after Singapore and Malaysia, in the second quarter this year.
Great Eastern, a subsidiary of OCBC Bank, has S$54 billion (US$43 billion) in assets and 3.8 million policyholders, 30,000 of which are Indonesian customers. The company also operates in China, Vietnam and Brunei. (nvn)
