Internet collaboration for Maylaffayza

JAKARTA: Top violinist Maylaffayza is not allowing distance to hinder her from collaborating with another musician for an upcoming concert.

The 35-year-old is preparing a concert with talented violinist Iskandar Widjaja, who currently resides in Germany.

Maylaffayza said they had been communicating on the Internet to sort out the technical details of the performance. They are sending each other emails to prepare for the show called “Classically in Love” and slated for Feb. 11 to celebrate Valentine’s Day.

“Preparing a concert long distance like this is a new thing for me. It is a new challenge,” she said as quoted by kompas.com on Thursday.

Iskandar is a young Indonesian musician who was born in Berlin, Germany, 25 years ago. His brilliant performances have brought about opportunities to perform all over the world, as well as numerous awards.
