Mayor urges schools to tackle bullying

DENPASAR: Mayor IB Rai Dharmawijaya Mantra on Thursday urged schools to tackle bullying, following the distribution of a shocking video of a group of teenagers assaulting a fellow student.

“Teachers should begin mapping and identifying the phenomenon, perceived as influential and significant by our teenagers, to gain an understanding on what kinds of things could drive them to carry out such violence,” he told dozens of school principals at a special meeting.

Mantra promised to visit banjars (neighborhood associations) and meet with youth associations to find a solution.
