Masseur who posed as police officer charged with molest in Spore

A masseur is believed to have outraged the modesty of a 17-year-old girl on Monday.

Koh Kah Yong, 27, was charged on Friday with allegedly using criminal force to molest the victim at a staircase landing of a Circuit Road housing estate in Aljunied. Through the court interpreter, he pleaded not guilty.

The judge granted the police prosecutor's request for Koh to be remanded for a week so as to allow police to investigate if he had committed other offences.

In a news release issued on Thursday, police said that the victim had followed a man who identified himself as a police officer to a staircase landing where the offence is said to have been committed.

Also on the same day, a man had approached two youths at Circuit Road. He had flashed a card and identified himself as a police officer. He then ordered the two teenagers to hand over their cellphones for checking. He also informed them to collect their phones from a nearby police post the next day.

When they found out that he had stolen their phones, they made a police report.
