Text your say: Political rights of former convicts

A- A A+

Your comments on the approval by a House of Representatives’ committee to grant former convicts, including corruptors, murderers and rapists, their political rights so that they are allowed to become legislative candidates:

The problem is that people elect candidates who promise the most.

I don’t care because our thoughts just remain thoughts.

Nobody cares!

This is nonsense! What kind of nation do we have?

The public will not trust the House of Representatives if it is allowed to be filled by guilty persons.

Other countries will mock us due to the bad image of our leaders.
Fitri Nurjanah

Why do they still have their rights when they have robbed the rights of other people? It is unfair.
Maria Sumarno

It is fair for them to elect and to be elected.

Their past lives or bad reputations are something to bear in mind when we vote for them.
Ferdinanus Supandri

It is good news for the Indonesian people. Be ready to be led by criminals.

I just want to remind the public that you decide your legislators, not the House.

The embezzlers, murderers and rapists may have the right to become legislators.

But we the people have the right not to elect them.

We have to be smart.
