Boy allegedly strangles girlfriend to death after sex rejection

A teenage boy strangled his underage girlfriend to death at Kutai Timur, East Kalimantan, on Sunday because she refused to have sex with him.

East Kalimantan Police chief Adj. Sr. Comr. Budi Santoso reported that the victim was found dead at 6:00 a.m in the vicinity of Darul Mutaqqim mosque in Makmur Jaya village.

Police arrested the boy, who was not identified, at his house. The 16-year-old boy admitted to police investigators that he had perpetrated the crime.

Separately, chief detective Adj. Comr. Sugeng Subagyo said the victim had died of strangulation.

The police have sent the body of the girl to Wahab Syahranie Samarinda General Hospital for autopsy, as reported by Antara news agency. (han)
