Bangka Belitung (Babel) Police chief Brig. Gen. Rum Murkal apologized to the public following a report that two police officers had been found looting a resident’s tin sand.

Two police officers, identified as GN and RT, were arrested on Sunday night on Jl. Pangkalpinang-Koba after looting Sarmili’s tin sand.

“As the chief police of Bangka Belitung, I apologize to all people over the two police officers who stole tin sand from a resident. Rest assured there are many good police officers,” Murkal was quoted by tribunnews.com on Tuesday.

He said he would carry out internal reform within the police and would administer strict punishment to the officers.
