JAKARTA: While Senayan and the Challengers cruised to respective wins, the Rebels just managed to survive in the matches played on Sunday in the Apple Coal JCA League 2011-12. Senayan decimated the India XI by eight wickets at Cibubur cricket ground. Electing to bowl first, Senayan bowled out India XI for a paltry 87 runs in 20 overs, before reaching the victory target in just 14 overs. Ashit Mehta (3/14), Javed Ansari (2/18) and Jimmy (2/29) were the pick of the Senayan bowlers. Amrith (36 runs) and Raju Ramani (35 runs) completed the formalities for Senayan.

At Purwakarta, the Challengers posted an easy eight-wicket victory over Tigers, who were bowled out for a lowly 58 runs in 26 overs. Sunil took four wickets, while Sushil took three. The Challengers reached the victory target in just eight overs, with Dhanashekharan remaining unbeaten on 19 runs.

In the third match of the day at Karawaci, a solo performance by Maneesh Tiwari helped the Rebels scrape through against Bogor by just two wickets. Maneesh’s five wickets, for just 23 runs, were instrumental in skidding Bogor all out for 108 runs in 23 overs.

What should have been a cake walk for the Rebels turned out to be a nightmare as Bogor fought back to have the Rebels reeling at 59/6 in 12 overs, and then 95/8 in 24 overs. An unbeaten 43 runs by Maneesh ensured a Rebels victory in the 25th over. Ali Basharat took three wickets for Bogor.

Senayan has now jumped to third spot on the table with 62 points, with Ceylon still leading with 75 points and WISCI placed second with 68 points.
