American hip-hop artist Snare to perform tonight

kompas.comAmerican hip-hop artist and drummer Tariq Snare of Native Deen will perform a special, one-time collaboration performance with nine Indonesians hip hop musicians at @america in Pacific Place Mall in South Jakarta on Wednesday.
The show will be held from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.
“Tariq will speak about the significance of music to African American history, explain the role of beat boxing in hip hop, and engage the audience in an interactive hip hop workshop,” said the U.S. Embassy of Jakarta said in a statement sent to The Jakarta Post.
Tariq Snare is a renowned drummer who has toured the world with various international artists, an educator who taught Language Arts, Social Studies and Music in the New York City Public School system and is currently the author and illustrator of a drum instruction book for children called "Kids Can Play Hip Hop Drums!"
Tariq has performed with American artists such as Queen Latifah, Kieth Sweat, JT Taylor of Kool and the Gang, PM Dawn, Wilson Pickett and of course Native Deen.
Native Deen toured Indonesia with stops in Jakarta, Pontianak, Surabaya, Malang and Makasar in August 2011.
