DENPASAR: The problem of uncollected garbage in the city has not only been aggravated by torrential rain and heavy gales but also by the fact that two-thirds of the city’s garbage truck fleet are broken down.
“We are experiencing a significant delay in the collection of garbage in several streets due to the limited number of garbage trucks,” the city’s parks and sanitation agency head Ketut Wisada said.
Out of a total of 24 garbage trucks operated by the agency, 18 are out of order.
“We apologize for the inconvenience caused by the delay and we are working to fix this problem,” he promised.
