Mobile phone maker Nokia Indonesia announced on Tuesday its new country manager, Martin Chirotarrab, replacing Bob McDougall, who has decided to leave the company by the end of February.

“I am very enthusiastic to work in Nokia’s most important and dynamic market, particularly at the beginning of a new era for this company,” Chirotarrab said in a press statement sent to The Jakarta Post on Tuesday.

“I want to use my experience to continue [the company’s] market leadership,” he added.

Chirotarrab, who joined the company in 2006, has previously worked as country manager in the Caribbean, Central America and Venezuela. Based in Miami, he supervised distribution and marketing strategy in 37 countries in Latin America. He helped boost the growth of the phone company’s market share and its sales in the region.
