JAKARTA: Musician Nomo Koeswoyo, who was a member of the legendary band Koes Ploes, is releasing a new album titled Pop Jawa with all songs in the Javanese language.
“There is a moral message that is easier to convey for me in Javanese. The usage of Javanese is simpler, and it is harder to translate it into Indonesian,” he said Monday as quoted by kapanlagi.com.
The album contains 13 songs such as “Piweling”, “Kembang Jagung” and “Pamong”.
Nomo launched the album in Jakarta accompanied by writer Arswendo Atmowiloto and local music expert Bens Leo.
