Mandiri AXA announces new commissioners, directors

The joint venture between state-run Bank Mandiri and financial institution AXA Group, PT Mandiri AXA General Insurance (MAGI), announced Thursday its new board of commissioners and directors as a result of its recent shareholders meeting in Jakarta.
Mansyur S. Nasution was named as the president commissioner, while Randy Lianggara and Riduan were appointed as company commissioners. The company also named Frans Wiyono as the independent commissioner.
Eduardus P. Supit, Syah Amondaris and Feter Kurniawan were appointed as the company’s president director, director of sales and distribution and chief financial officer, respectively.
“This newly appointed board of commissioners and directors are instrumental to the growth and development of this new general insurance business. The board of directors led by Eduardus P. Supit is very experienced and has strong business acumen,” Randy said in a press statement sent to The Jakarta Post.
“We are confident that we will create presence and that we will gain market share in Indonesia. For a start, we will focus on vehicle insurance, property and personal accident coverage,” Eduardus said.
He added that the company planned to cooperate with new business partners to expand its distribution in 30 market centers in Indonesia.
Eduardus has over 30 years of experience in general insurance and finance, as well as property, automotive, distribution and manufacturing in several companies. He served as the president director and CEO of insurance company PT Asuransi Astra Buana from 1999 to 2007.
Prior to joining MAGI, Syah was the senior vice president of the consumer loans group in Bank Mandiri. Feter was previously the finance and accounting division head with PT Adira Insurance.
