There is a whole lot of diva going on when it comes to singer Titi DJ, at least on a professional level. She was one of the three divas, along with Ruth Sahanaya and Krisdayanti; and one of her biggest hits is Sang Dewi (The Goddess).
But she becomes a down-to-earth domestic diva on the weekend, as she spends quality time with her three daughters and son, including going out to eat. A Twitter inquiry about the best place in town for Sunday brunch quickly led to her response about her favorite place – Koi in Kemang, South Jakarta – whose eggs Benedict this diva finds simply divine.
Titi reveals her favorite ways to relax on her days off from work, and a secret that she may have preferred to keep secret.
My weekend is
A time for enjoyment with my children. That is when I am not working. So we watch DVD movies together, cook or I just spend time talking with them.
Favorite weekend breakfast/brunch spot
Koi Kemang, because there are so many delicious choices on the breakfast and brunch menu. The place is also really comfortable.
My weekend shopping
Grocery shopping, because it’s already our routine. To ensure that we do not get bored, I make a grocery list with kids, divided into different sections which each of us is responsible for. In the end, though, I am the one who has to take care of it all (laughs).
My time with the kids
I go with the kids anywhere they want, because I know if it’s not where they want to go, then they will be out of sorts during the trip there, and once we have arrived it will have killed the mood.
A recent weekend discovery
Chatting with the boyfriends and girlfriend of my kids. It’s really enjoyable to know the topics they like to talk about. And I quietly take note of their gestures.
Favorite dinner spot
Japanese restaurants, wherever they are.
Favorite recreational escapeBali. Why? Well, it’s Bali gitu loooo (it’s Bali you know).
Something I never do on the weekend
Well, it’s not that I never do it, but I often don’t bathe for the entire day on the weekend. Gross, I know.+ Bruce Emond
