At least 10 people fell into the Cihideung River and were carried away by a strong current in Ciampea, Bogor, West Java, after a bamboo bridge they were crossing collapsed on Sunday.
Search and rescue team coordinator Budi Darmawansyah said the victims were on their way home after attending a commemoration of Prophet Muhammad's birth at the Bogor Institute of Agriculture campus.
"The bamboo bridge collapsed when the residents were crossing it," Budi was quoted as saying by tribunnews.com.
The victims fell five meters into the river.
