Comment: Law enforcement won’t help church issue: SBY

Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono says the prolonged and widely exposed saga surrounding the Indonesian Christian Church (GKI) Taman Yasmin in Bogor, West Java, was sparked by a permission issue and thus should not be used to judge religious tolerance and democratic values in the country.

Your comments:

Don’t look at it as a religious issue, just look at it as a legal issue, after all, Indonesia is a secular country.

Besides, are you sure those making trouble were from the local
community?

Or were they new to the community? What is your proposal to settle the problem?

Give in and surrender their rights? Who’s next? Guess which is the next town or city? Indonesia needs legal certainty.
